Just thought I’d share some of my thoughts on the nominations.
First thing I noticed: Daft Punk getting snubbed for Original Score. Boo! Good to see The Social Network getting the nod though.
Nolan not getting a nomination for Director us a shame too. Having said that, I think that the only reason why Inception is in the running for Best Picture is because of the increased number of films able to be nominated. If it were a five Best Picture nomination year, there’s no way Inception would be up there. It was a good film, but not Best Picture good.
Lastly, why do they even bother with the Best Animated Feature category? Being that Toy Story 3 is the sole animated film in the running for Best Picture, is there any doubt that it will win Best Animated Feature?
